Throughout the year Heritage Village Museum runs a variety of special events. Help anywhere from admissions and concessions to dressing in period clothing and interpreting our historic buildings or doing 19th century demonstrations, there is something for everyone!

On the last Saturday of every month, help serve at mobile food pantries, at St. Elizabeth’s Covington location and at Ludlow Vets. These pantries bring nutritious food to over 600 families in these neighborhoods and are held outdoors, rain or shine. Please arrive by 8:30 AM and check in at the volunteer tent.

Our annual fall volunteer event, held on a weekend in November each year. Form a team to help seniors and people with disabilities prepare their homes for winter by raking leaves and cleaning gutters. Sort, organize, pack and prepare for delivery household items for families in need.

Accompany neighbors around our choice food pantry, letting them know how many of each item they can take, bagging groceries, and helping them out to their vehicles. On slower days, volunteers might also sort donations and stock the pantry shelves. Our food pantry is open on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday mornings.

Volunteers can also help by bringing an activity to the residents. By participating in fun experiences, the residents can make new friends, learn new skills, and thrive again as they work towards independence. The possibilities are endless – give us an idea and we’ll help you make it possible!

The residents of Tender Mercies are always in need of household items and supplies to make their home more welcoming and comfortable. Donating items on our Wish List is much appreciated by the residents as they regain stability and learn the skills needed to regain independence and self-sufficiency.

Western Wildlife Corridor is very active restoring wildlife habitat at several special preserves in the Ohio River valley. In our neck of the woods, this usually means removing invasive alien plant species like Amur Honeysuckle or Garlic Mustard so that the native plants and animals can prosper.
