VolunteerforVeterans.org is a website where veterans can go to add personal needs, such as lawn care, cleaning needs, caregiver respite, etc. Volunteers can then register and sign-up to help veterans in their local community. Hours are credited to the volunteer through the DAV Local Veterans Assistance Program.

Help with after school programing, helping with homework, doing crafts and spending time with these kids who are so awesome.

Collect snack, hygiene or school supplies or needy kids!

Cook a meal for the 30 women and children in our shelter, and drop off the meal around 3PM on any day of the week! Great way to help from the comfort of your home and engage children in a good cause.

Host an activity night at our shelter for homeless women and children. Activities could be geared towards adults, children, or both! Shelter activity nights happen Sunday-Thursday, 7:30PM-8:30PM.

Property maintenance and improvement projects large and small – volunteers have built picnic shelters, assembled greenhouses, cleared hiking trails in the woods, made new hiking trails, painted, repaired fencing, cleared brush along fences, planted trees, improved drainage

Volunteers help maintain and beautify the grounds at the Arboretum through Dig in the Dirt days (Tuesday mornings) and our Adopt-a-Collection program (on their own schedule, after completing training).

Through the years, many Boy and Girl Scout Troops have participated in service days at the Arboretum. As these young men and women help beautify the grounds, they are learning the value of service to their community, and the importance of public horticulture.

Adopt-a-Roadway or Adopt-a-Park is a program that utilizes volunteers to help clean up our streets and parks.

Helping Seasonal Events for our Parks and Recreation Department, such as the Fine Arts Fair, Red, White and Kaboom!, Touch-a-Truck, Farm-R-Treat, Light Up Fairfield and more!
